The inception of A-1 Contours, Inc. as a corporation began in January of 1993 forty miles north of Seattle, Washington in the city of Arlington, Washington. With the close of IMO Industries Contura division Robert Mitchell, Richard Luster and Wayne Brown formed the corporation and began their endeavor. Starting with a few pantograph milling machines in a rented facility of 1800 square feet and with one customer, Praxair Inc., A-1 Contours and its partners were determined to provide the highest level of quality in manufacturing impellers.
The early years expanded the customer base to include Air Products & Chemicals, ACD, Mafi-Trench, Condor International and others. By 1995-96 we were expanding the companies manufacturing capabilities to include 5 axis CNC milling, CNC lathe capabilities, and a staff of ten employees.
A-1 Contours, Inc. relocated in 2003 to the Boise-Nampa metropolitan area known as the “Treasure Valley” in Idaho. Our intention was to secure larger facilities, lower the financial burden to the company and offer a semi-rural, less congested Idaho lifestyle to our daily lives.
Our traditional customer base remains bi-coastal; we are extremely fortunate to have their loyalty during our transition into our new 10,000-sq. ft. facilities.
For over 15 years A-1 Contours has maintained its commitment to provide rotating hardware to the compressed air/gas industry. Our dedication and superior component machining is at your disposal.
